- On medium heat , put oil in a pan
- Put cumin seeds and onions and sauté until golden brown
- Put the ginger, garlic and chilies and sauté for another minute
- Add the puree paste tomato and stir until oil and masala separates
- Mix all the powders and cook until the spices are well combined
- Add the cooked kidney beans to the masala, along with some of the cooking liquid or water to achieve the desired consistency
